You're right about Raimi but I personally like to be scared or on the edge of my seat w/ nervous anticipation for a "horror" pic . I like it when you're heartrate is up the whole movie and when it's over you feel like you've run a marathon like say "The Exorcist" . I was like 13 when I saw that and I was SCARED , even w/ a swiveling head and explosive vomiting , there was no giggling .
Life is a grindstone . Whether it grinds us down or polishes us up , depends on what we are made of .

Agreed. Even the build-up of tension in a slower paced horror movie (see Rosemary's Baby for instance--which is a top 5 horror flick for me) is really great compared to other movies with a giggle here or there. Or stuff like The Omen where you're constantly thinking that the protagonists are up the creek w/o a paddle from the word go. But--with Raimi, that's just his thing, with the comedic breaks to pull your guard down, then hit you in the face with a crazy monster from around the corner. It's to be expected.

"The Hangover" - If you liked "Old School" you'll like this one . Zack Galifianakis really stole this movie , he was hilarious , sometimes w/o even saying a word . Ed Helms (Andy from The Office) was also a riot . The last scene may be the best , if not its pretty close . Raunchy humor and language so be warned .

    Agreed.
And the credits were the funniest part.

Taking of Pelham 123 - Good movie overall . Denzel and Travolta were on target . Travolta's character may have been a little over the top but acceptable . Some decent action and plot , worth my $6.50 and time .
